About Us

Edition YR

Edition YR has been created to give to a large public access to various keyboard arrangements and transcriptions and pedagogical material made by Yves Rechsteiner other the past 20 years.

Our publications are mainly devoted to the organ solo, but harpsichord pieces, 4 hands duets and arrangements for organ and string ensemble will also be available.

Our publications are available in paper or digital version. They are designed to offer the maximum confort of use for performers, avoiding unnecessary page turning.

These transcriptions have mostly be realized for musical projects that were recorded on CD. They are the result of a long process from selecting interesting pieces to transcribe, studying the composer’s style and the style of organ playing of the time, to the actual writing followed by a long use in concerts with permanent corrections and improvements.

Organ transcriptions are meant for specific styles of organ and a corresponding art de registration. Rameau is meant for a classical french instrument. Bach, Telemann, Vivaldi, Haydn and Mozart’s pieces are designed for a german tradition organ. In the XIXth century, various pieces of Schubert, Bellini, Beethoven, etc.. stay in the boundaries of an early french romantic organ of the years 1850. A more symphonic organ is needed for Saint-Saens’s Danse Macabre.

Pedagogical material related to basso continuo practice in historical style is also provided. Various realisation of pieces by Bach or Strozzi are proposed. They are also the result of years of practice during concerts.

Various translations of articles are also accessible for free in the Article.
